Hi, You can use these to control what programs startup. Many that install themselves into StartUp do not really need to be there. Such as Acrobat Reader (Adobe), WinAmp Agent, and many others which load pieces of themselves to start faster (not an issue on today's machines) and to be sure they can control the files they support (to be sure you continue to use only them). Those are only common examples and not meant as a slam on those fine programs. Cannot connect to internet
I am working on a friend's computer. It is running Vista Home Premium on a Gateway quad-core 64 bit box. Some time recently they lost the ability to connect to the internet. Yes, I have tried system restore. I restored from the oldest point, and there were no changes. Gateway sent me a package with the Marvell ethernet driver. The version on the box is already the current one. I verified several places on the web. They are using dial-up. I brought the box home, ran full virus scans with no reported infections. I am really interested in figuring out what happened! -ww\oz

My system has suddenly become unresponsive. Google Chrome will not start, Safari will not start, IE starts but seems slow. The whole system is suddenly unresponsive. I have McAfee installed but it does not report a problem. I did a scan with HiJack This and am posting the results below. Any ideas out there about what may be happening???? That's fine. I got it fixed by running Malwarebytes. Now, everything is working fine.
I'm facing the same issue in XP OS. IE opens instead of Chrome and Safari. The problem exist for more than 6 months, so system restore may not be the solution. Please suggest me.
If this is a recent problem then this variant of System Restore might fix it: 1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device. 2. Boot the machine with your Windows 7 Repair CD. 3. Press a key if prompted to boot from the DVD. 4. Select "Repair PC" from the menu. 5. Select Repair when prompted. 6. Select System Restore when prompted. 7. Set Windows back to a point before this problem occurred. 8. When finished, remove the CD before rebooting the system. In Step 2 you could also use your Windows 7 installation DVD. The subsequent steps are similar to the ones above.

Can't fix my 'file missing' logs
Hello everybody, For the past couple of days I'm dealing with the same problem over and over again. I'm starting up a program (in this case it is a game) and the same message pops up each time I start the game. It says the following message "The instruction on 0xac5c4cd7 refers to memory on 0x0000002c. A read- or write operation on the memory failed: read. Click OK if you want to close the program" I've checked for viruses and other junk and deleted it all. But I still got the same error, so I checked my logs and I saw that there were many logs with the 'file missing' message. So I 'fixed checked' but it didn't change anything. So now is my question, how can I delete or repair the 'missing files' in my logs? I really hope someone could help me with this problem so my system works properly again. Thank you

the solution is deleting this file: ''C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727'' (is the directory of all the .exe who makes your computer slowdown) there is some files who makes your computer slowdown when you finally eliminate the cvtres.exe file.. here is an example: ''vbc.exe''. So, you need to eliminate the entire file whith all the .exe because it apears again if you delete just one and restart your pc.. So you need to download this program to eliminate this file, because it is ''blocked'' for admin permissions: ''Unlocker'' (here is the softonic link for the download: ''h**p://unl0cker.s0ft0nic.com/'') just right click on the file, select unlocker, give permissions if asks, and select eliminate, then click in ''accept'', or ''ok''. Reset your pc if the program requires it, and forget of that cpu at 100%. this program save mi life a lot of times!!! it's really usefull!! sorry, barely talk english, YOUR SOLUTION FROM ARGENTINA, SALUDOS Y MUCHA SUERTE! Regedit.exe, Task Manager, and msconfig won't open!
So, a while ago, my dad got really mad at me, and without me knowing he forced himself as an admin, and me as a standard user, I couldnt do anything, like Task manager, etc. but finally, I got admin rights back again, but then kept getting this error, "[PROGRAM] has been disabled by your administrator" Where program is Task manager, registry editing, and msconfig, I used GPedit and now I dont get that error, but they will now just open and close right away. From the looks of the data you posted you have Norton and Vipre and possibly other anti-malware utilities what is happening is that Norton and Vipre are fighting each other and not only slowing you system down but leaving it wide open for all kinds of junk. best thing to do it remove all anti-virus/anti-malware/anti spyware products and download the latest version of which ever you choose and don't put any others on. Personally I would stay away from Norton products as they tend to be hogs, I have done extensive testing of several products and can say that of all the only two I would trust are Eset node 32 and Vipre None of the others even thought about blocking spyware.
The computer freezes or automatically reboots frequently.
I see that a lot of other people have the same unresolved problem. My system is a Dell desktop studio XPS 8000 – 64-bit, five years old, if this even makes a difference. I've been having a problem which is when the computer first boots, it successfully boots to desktop. Then all of a sudden, whether it's left idle, or not, it either automatically reboots, or I get a hard freeze and have to hold the start button to shut it down. I've tried both ticking and unticking the auto boot which makes no difference. When it does this, one thing is consistent, it will only do it once. When I mean is, I boot up the computer, it goes to desktop, everything seems to be fine, and then for no apparent reason, it will automatically reboot, go to desktop again, and now everything will be fine. One thing I've noticed in Device Manager, is that I have two sets of the seemingly same card readers: one under the category of disk drives (without an error symbol), the other under ' Thank you Original title : Rebooting Problem

Hi JTBurnett , Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community. Apart from the issue, how are you doing today? Do let us know if you need further assistance. We will be happy to help. We, at Microsoft strive towards excellence. Thanks.
Please answer the questions- 1) Do you get any error message or error code? 2) Under what category (in device manager), are the “unrecognizable drivers” located? I won't be able to do more of what you requested until this weekend. I'll get back then. Thank you so much for responding!

Virus Problem?- Unable to access many programs, system restore, Windows Components
I'm reasonably confident that the issue I'm having is the direct result of a virus. The first sign was after logging in the other day, a message popped up that said my copy of Windows was not valid. After re-validating it, I still am not able to access many programs, system restore, Windows Components- Run, Control Panel, Defender etc. I have already run many scans- MalwareBytes, Hijackthis, AVG, ZoneAlarm, SuperAnti-SpyWare, Avira, Emsisoft, etc. Still nothing. here is the hijackthis log: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 5:48:59 PM, on 9/17/2010 Platform: Windows Vista SP2 (WinNT 6.00.1906) Any and all help is appreciated. HijackThis is designed to work on 32 bit operating systems. Your log indicates that you are running a 64 bit operating system. Unfortunately, HijackThis is incapable of producing an accurate log for 64 bit systems. You should not attempt any sort of fix based on the information in that HijackThis log.

Hi, I would suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps. Method 1: Try to run [System File Checker] SFC scan on the computer which would scan for corrupt system files on the computer and replace them. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833 Method 2: Also try to scan your computer from Microsoft Safety Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. The Microsoft Safety Scanner is a free downloadable security tool that provides on-demand scanning and helps remove viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. It works with your existing antivirus software. http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To rerun a scan with the latest anti-malware definitions, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. Hope this information is helpful.

Hi, I have the same issue as veronica did about the missing files fix. I tried the Method 1 in Vinod N's post but the command prompt screen said that the windows resource protection could not start the repair service. Also when I searched my computer for sfc.exe I found 4 of them 2 were 37.5 Kb and 2 were 33.0 Kb. When I went to run 2 of them as administrator it said they were form unknown publisher. The 2 from unknown publisher were located as follows: C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft-windows-wrp-in..., and C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-wr... I was not able to run the other 2 as administrator. When I tried the command prompt opened and closed real fast. What should I do? Thanks, LD32

Windows 7 64 Bit: Programs won't close (i.e. will stay in background for several minutes until they disappear and can be reopened again). This is true for Internet Explorer but other programs as well, including WMP.
I am running Win 7 64 Bit Ultimate on P7-P55 4Gb Ram, Core i5, ATI 5670, 2tb of space. If I open IE8, then close it, then open again then close, ... 10 times, and I close IE8, I see 10 ieplore.exe running in the background. They disappear after several minutes (close to 5 minutes...). Also, if I run a program like Adobe Premiere (or any other programs...), when I close the program, the window closes but the program itself stays live in the background (I can see in in the task manager) and I can't reopen the program until it has disappeared from the task manager, otherwise nothing happens when I clic on the program. Also, whenever I try to kill a process it will take up to 3-5 minutes to kill it. Lastly, windows media player will always freeze (hang: not responding) if I try to click on a song in the library which has been deleted from my drive (from outside WMP). I then choose to close the program but then it takes 5 minutes until I can re-start it again as it stays on in the background. -- End of file - 13944 bytes

The issue is BitDefender 2010, when I turn off the BitDefender Antivirus module (in the BD program itself) in Expert Settings, it solves the issue. Thanks.
Ok so I tried a clean boot. At first no change but then I relized Bidefender is still loading and it opens two processes on startup. I wa able to kill one manually, the other btagent.exe gave me an access denied message so I can't kill it but killing the first seems to have stopped my issue so it appears linked to Bitdefender TS 2010. Why does BD still load on startup even though I disables all in msconfig? Thanks, I run further tests tonight.
Hi, It is a possibility that one of the installed 3rd party application is causing the conflict. You are required to perform a clean boot to find the program that is causing this and then disable or remove it. Here is the procedure to do it: 1. Click Start, type msconfig in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER. User Account Control permission. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, Or click Continue. 2. On the General tab, click Selective Startup. 3. Under Selective Startup, click to clear the Load Startup items check box. 4. Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All. 5. Click OK. 6. When you are prompted, click Restart. 7. After the computer starts, check whether the problem is resolved. To identify what loads when you boot use Autoruns (freeware from Microsoft). http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902 With Autoruns you can uncheck an item, which disables it from starting, or you can right click an item and then delete it. If you uncheck you can recheck to re-enable the item. It is a much safer approach than editing the Registry and better than using msconfig. tt Hello all, I have an issue with my Windows 7 64 bit. I keep getting the following error. and this is the ONLY error I get, usually right after rebooting. The only problem this computer has is a graphical glitch with games (all games, no matter what direct x I use) I have changed video cards, updated drivers (clean install) and I still have this shimmering/flickering issue along with this error (which may or may not be related) Any help with either issues would be great.

Hello These graphical issues and these errors have been there since the fresh install. I also recently had an issue where my games were running at 5-10fps and I have a very very expensive gaming system and the games should be fast. All i did was reboot and my games went back to normal. (but still had flickering issue) I am also getting the following errors. WHat gives? Please help me fix this as I really hate this flickering problem and I dont know why my good pc would suddenly run so slowly (and only graphics) but run normal other times.
I wish i could help you (or that someone actually knew), I'm seeing the same problem, but none of the side effects you otherwise describe.
Hi Tony, sounds like your video card. Is that an on board card? If not, try re-seating it. Also, I noticed you have quite a few "computer helpers" installed. I would remove all that stuff and just add back Windows firewall and Malware Bytes then see how your system runs. Looks like several programs are trying to access the same dll files and programs. Your registry probably needs to be cleaned, however I DO NOT suggest any of those Reg-cleaning products...they do more harm than good. And going into Registry without knowing EXACTLY what you are doing is a serious mistake. It may come down to a serious format. Hope this helps, Eddie B.

Hello ValerSK8, Thank you for using Microsoft Windows Vista Forums. Sorry you are having problems! I would first try to perform a System Restore. I would see how far back your system will let you go back. Using the System Restore tool may not necessarily help you determine the issue. The System Restore tool uses restore points to return system files and settings to an earlier point in time. You can use it to restore the operating system to a point in time in which you did not experience the issue. When you use System Restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you installed are removed. Depending on how far back you can go, you can determine what problems are still occuring. Please let us know status. Thanks! Running the Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.
Hello ValeraSK8, Thank you for posting. I've included a link to the online scanner for malware using OneCare Live. http://onecare.live.com/site/en-US/center/whatsnew.htm . You can also try searching for Malwarebytes as a good secondary tool for malware scans. You might also want to try uninstalling the PeoplePC software since it seems to have been the root cause (please make sure that you have the install media before removing the program). Please let me know if this helps. Zack Microsoft Answers Support Engineer Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

Do you know when this problem began? Try a System Restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem began. Here's the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/ . Be sure to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points. If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two. NOTE: You will have to re-install any software and updates you installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for the updates. Use the recovery disk if the system prompt doesn’t work. The recovery disk works a bit different from the above procedures but if you follow the prompts from the System Restore menu option with the above information you should be able to restore with no problems. Explorer crash after Windows 10 november update
Since I installed the Windows 10 november update (x64), I'm facing a lot of explorer crash; specially when i try to access to my nas, but sometimes also when I'm using Chrome, I see that the windows bar disappears and appears again. I had also to remove my mapped network shares because else it was very impossible to use explorer. Looking in the Event Viewer I get this error: Faulting application name: explorer.exe, version: 10.0.10586.0, time stamp: 0x5632d4c0 Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.10586.0, time stamp: 0x5632d193 -- End of file - 14082 bytes
Thanks for the answer, I think nothing was found:

The issue may be related to the wpdshext.dll (Microsoft Portable Devices Shell Extension). I might suggest at this point to try to obtain a user mode dump which has the potential to pinpoint the cause. You can configure Windows to create user-mode dumps. Create a System Restore Point first. If you copy and paste the following in Notepad and save as a .reg file (save with the .reg extension and give it any name such as dump.reg), then right-click the .reg file and select "Merge" to add to the registry, a .dmp file at the time explorer.exe crashes should be created in the C:\CrashDumps folder: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\LocalDumps\explorer.exe] "DumpFolder"=hex(2):43,00,3a,00,5c,00,43,00,72,00,61,00,73,00,68,00,44,00,75,\ 00,6d,00,70,00,73,00,00,00 After Explorer (explorer.exe) crashes, can you then make the .dmp file available (provide link) via a public folder on OneDrive (SkyDrive) or similar site? Hi, Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forums. Based on the information, you are able to connect to internet only in safe mode with networking. Since the issue seems to be related to a virus infection, let’s try the following steps and check if it helps. Method 1: You may try running an online scan to check for the issue. Refer the link to run the scan: Microsoft Safety Scanner Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss. Method 2: You may also try performing a clean boot and check if it helps. A clean boot helps to verify if any third party application services or startup item is causing this issue. Taskmgr.exe keeps requesting to make changes but it's in my user folder, not system 32
so I just started getting the "request to make changes" box popped up and it came up with taskmgr.exe and it was in my user folder as opposed to system32 which i thought it normally was located. it also was followed by the phrase 0000000003C8>1500 and I keep denying it the ability to make changes and it immediately pops up again and doesn't willingly let me go back to what i was doing. This just started happening today while I was trying to get rid of a pre-existing issue where I get redirected when I click a link from any given google search. Win7 x64 locks up when certain processes connect to the internet
I am pretty well baffled here, and have tried everything I can think of, and what I can find out info wise on the internet was well, especially here. Here is the problem: When certain programs need to access the internet, IE Weatherbug, do acquire weather updates, or one of my games, specifically the Auran Trainz simulator, to acquire new content via the download manager within the game, it locks the computer up to the point of needing a hard reboot everytime. I know this has to do with its internet access, and likely a port it is accessing. All works find in Safe Mode, but in regular boot, it will lock up each time. Any thoughts as to what could cause this within the internet access? I will happily look at all suggestions or thoughts. Hijack this file as follows: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.4 O23 - Service: @%Systemroot%\system32\wbem\wmiapsrv.exe,-110 (wmiApSrv) - Unknown owner - C:\Windows\system32\wbem\WmiApSrv.exe (file missing) O23 - Service: @%PROGRAMFILES%\Windows Media Player\wmpnetwk.exe,-101 (WMPNetworkSvc) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Media Player\wmpnetwk.exe (file missing)
Trainz is the only application right now that I can get it to lock up specifically with. There are times, when coming out of hibernation, that the computer will lock up as well. The only time Trainz locks up is when I am on the Content manager, and am attempting to download new content. The moment it connects to the internet is when it locks up, otherwise, Trainz on the local computer runs fine. I can access the simulator itself with no problem, and run it all day long. I am running Trainz 2010, but will upgrade to the 2012 here before long. I am tempted to back up everything, and install Win7 again on this laptop, and be done with it. I just hate to have to go through the process of reinstalling everything.
Hi Rodney, Which background applications did you narrow it down to? Was it only Trainz? Which version are you using?
Uninstall weatherbug. Its classed as adware. O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Weather] C:\Program Files (x86)\AWS\WeatherBug\Weather.exe 1 I would uninstall ASUS liveupdate, if the mobo supports flashing from within the BIOS Because if you update the BIOS with this (without downloading the update first then loading it). It will freeze
Weatherbug uninstalled. I also have tried safemode and cleanboot. Safemode all works like it is supposed to, with no lock ups. When in clean boot, or normal boot, when accessing programs like the Trainz simulator, and going to download content, the moment the program accesses the internet to download material is when it locks up. Everything else within the computer runs like it is supposed to with no problems. I am guessing this has to do with a internet connection issue. I have been advised that CCleaner may have cause some of this, deleting processes or a registry key that is needed. Any thoughts? Thank you for the reply thus far! Rodney

You fixed the symptom, not the problem. Like chopping off your hand because you have a hangnail and consider that being resolved?
There isn't really enough information to suggest things but the OP (Original Poster) indicated they thought the issue had something to do with WU (Windows Updates). I think the only way they could have come up with "SVChost.exe - k netsvcs" would have been to use Process Explorer but there could be 6, 8, 10 or more of those running (which is normal). The BITS (Background Intelligent Trasnsfer) Service or other Service that Windows Update might use should not be disabled - doing that make certainly prevent the system from using excessive CPU but it will also disable an important and fundamental part of Windows. So you haven't fixed the problem, you have fixed the symptom of the problem but also disabled an important part of your system so you haven't really fixed anything. WU has been afflicted for many months with a symptom of "hanging", "not doing anything", "just sits there", "stuck" and folks end up following lots of ideas of things to "try" and not enough ideas of things to "do" a

Hi, If you need to check for malware here are my recommendations - these will allow you to do a thorough check and removal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running resident which can cause as many issues as the malware and maybe harder to detect as the cause. Microsoft MVP
Hi, Nothing there jumps out as malware though you do have a lot of optiona programs in startup which you can control. Next message will be how to thoroughly check for malware. You can use these to control what programs startup. Many that install themselves into StartUp do not really need to be there. Such as Acrobat Reader (Adobe), WinAmp Agent, and many others which load pieces of themselves to start faster (not an issue on today's machines) and to be sure they can control the files they support (to be sure you continue to use only them). "Threats are being cleaned" MSE popup window
Most of the other posts in this category are at lease a few years old, which is why I am reposing this question. Every time I open a new program, not necessarily one with connectivity, I receive a small popup window (lower right screen) that indicates threats are being cleaned. When I investigate "All detected items" in the history log, I find MSE has detected a form of the Win32/Zlob.gen!BL virus. I have noticed a small increase in unwanted ads on the firefox browser. I have run, above others, MSE deep scan with new update, iobit-advanced system care, antimalwarbytes, hijackthis(not sure how to interpret logfile info), and a couple adware scanners. Below is the logfile findings from "hijackthis": Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.5 Scan saved at 6:57:10 AM, on 19/07/2015 Platform: Windows 7 SP1 (WinNT 6.00.3505) OS: Window7 Pro 64bit Service pack 1 Thanx in advance!

Windows Live Mail & IE8 Unable To Access Internet
The Problem: The problem laptop can connect to the network both wired and wireless no problem. However, Windows Live Mail cannot find the host server and therefore cannot send & receive mail. IE8 returns the error screen "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". Effectively I can't check e-mail or surf the internet. The exception to IE8 is that if I launch the ATI Catalyst Control Center and click "Check for driver updates" the subsequent IE window opens to the AMD website. From that point I can easily surf the web so long as I am in that IE window, or tabs opened in that window. If I open another IE window it has the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error. End of file - 9689 bytes Thanks in advance for your help!
I forgot to mention that Firefox experienced the same problem as IE8. Initially Shaw Secure (F-secure/Shaw Cable) antivirus software was installed. Currently MS Security Essentials is installed and running. Turning the firewall off did not correct the problem.
This forum does not specialize in Internet Explorer (IE) issues. The system lags on boot up usually and sometimes on shutdown. I run a lot of video and graphic heavy programs and I see major lags sometimes when using those. My Malware Bytes is the free version. I've disabled other virus programs for now. Here is my log from ADWCleaner: http://1drv.ms/1FYov1O I also did the idstore.sst fix you suggested as well as ran the Fix It tool. I was not able to locate the Diagnostics -Performance Operational log according to your instructions. Once in the "Microsoft" folder I only had ('IE' 'IEResp' 'Windows') folders listed

Jared In what way(s) does your system lagging show itself? Is booting, on the internet or in some other way? Does it get progressively worse between boot and shutdown? Is this a recent change? What is Bocalnit.dll?
I can't access or find information on this .dll. I finally deleted the .dll installation from popping up but the folder remains and probably installed, still unable to gain access to remove it. I have feeling its a virus, that has embedded itself to a higher status then me the admin. I have had it for a year. I tried getting help from the Microsoft help desk, they said oh its a virus and if you pay us 99.99 and 50 more will help you for a year. I was like... I didn't make the virus, so don't be like sympatico, extortionist type mentality. Poltics aside the problem is real. Types of problems that have begun occurring. I can no longer open or close apps, have tried using wsresset.exe and many other recovery methods. Change PC settings and refresh will not open up. All my apps from the store go into a blank state. I had tried iobitdefender as a anti-malware software. It has a classic windows button upgrade that modified the start button, this is about when that problem came up. I will give a hijack list. I still use spybot S&D but since they have been bought out they are not quite the same as before. Cleaner... Perhaps someone could mention some good no mainstream scanners. Rogue killer was promising with its heuristic active searching. Meh, any thoughts. Majorgeeks.com is not what it was either. Just looking for better products. Perhaps someone can solve this riddle of the Bocalnit.dll file that's in the installation list. (used to be) The folders are still unable to be deleted. Possible Virus -Registry not able to be restore from backup and system backup giving errors
I believe that I may have gotten a very tricky virus. Awhile back, after downloading a free anti-keylogger trial, I had a warning from windows action center about my Anti-Virus Being disabled. After re enabling it, I ran a complete filesystem scan and nothing came up. That was with Norton 360 V. 3.0 Definitions Recent as of 3 mins ago. I also ran a Malware Bytes scan, Windows Defender, and HiJack This. I have not been able to find anything, yet I know something is amiss because I get filesystem errors and slow downs. explorer.exe is not working correctly when you click on the previous places drop down next to the address bar. Internet Explorer Constantly Crashes, and it seems as if it runs slower. I have checked system logs, and very little shows up. There is nothing that I can find on startup Programs. Any Help Would Be appreciated. Short of Doing a Clean install, I'm lost as to how to fix it. OS: Windows 7 PRO X64 Computer: Asus G51-VX X3A Bios AMI REV 205 Currently up to date on all Microsoft patchers, etc. Any Help Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kyle
Problem resolved after must flustration. It was not in fact the direct result of a virus, but that of badly of a badly written code, which caused the registry to be corrupted. It messsed with serveral files it shouldnt have. I attempted to fix, but it was still unstable, so i was forced to nuke and reinstall. After that, its all good except for the fact my explorer.exe previous locations drop down doesnt work. It always blank. Any suggestions?

Please let me know about the error you are getting while restoring ?
Hi Kyle1811, What is the error message you are getting while restoring from backup? For slow performance and error messages, you may try these steps: Step 1: Run a virus/malware scan You may use Microsoft Security Essentials to run the scan http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/ Step 2: Go through the steps mentioned in the article below: Optimize Windows 7 for better performance http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Optimize-Windows-7-for-better-performance Regards, Gulrez Microsoft Answers Support Engineer
Windows 10 Problem ?
Hello, Hoping that i will get the right answer for solving the problem which I found recently on my PC, It started when I found out, that my browsers were operating very slow and downloads needed quite a while for getting them. Curious what it could be, I followed some hints, telling me to remove the CACHE in the browser. I did this, to no result. To check if there woulb be a virus or trojan, I ran AVAST Premier and MALWAREBYTES. Both programs didn't find anything. Then, I started with HighjackThis and got a lot of similar entries, but all started with "Service", followed by an @. I never saw such entries before and I thought that messages were sent out without my knowledge. However, I was reading about an almost equal problem and I followed the advise from it. I ran SFC no corrupt files were found. I followed all further steps of the advise and ended up running "restore health" to no avail. My deep concern is now: "Do I host a virus or a trojan, or ist it simple a windows problem whic
Horst you did not follow instructions. Run Autoruns and select the Everything tab. Click File , Save and, using the scroll to the right, change the “ Save as type ” option from Autoruns Data (*.arn) to Text (*txt) . The file name changes to AutoRuns.txt . Click the Save button and upload the file to your OneDrive as a shared file and post as a link here. This is a small file which you do not need to zip.
With my colleague Gerry's kind indulgence and assuming Windows 10 64-bit... Please answer each of the following [admittedly tedious] Control Panel | Programs and Features | View installed updates (in left-hand menu)
Horst Your link does not work. For help with OneDrive see paragraph 9.3 http://www.gerryscomputertips.co.uk/Micro s oftCommunity1.htm
A useful feature of the programme is that you can right click an item and select Search Online to get information about the item selected. Hello Gerry, Thank you for your response. You will find the requested logfile of AUTORUNS, here : https://1drv.ms/f/s!AjKeLIQL3wIWaTayvDM_LL7jFgo I hope it worked and you can get the file. Awaiting your answer soon. Greetings from Austria, Horst
Hello Gerry, I apolpgize because of the inconveinience made. I really did my best in following your instruction. Meanwhile, a friend of mine, did examine my PC and I think, that he also used a special program for it. Anyway, right now the PC is running with normal speed now and he did convince me, that no TROJAN, VIRUS nor any other malware is on my PC anymore. However, since I have to less experience to know about all this special things, I kindly ask you to check the result of the AUTORUNS Log and let me know, what you can get out of it. Thanking you very much for your help and patience, Horst https://onedrive.live.com/?id=root&cid=1602DF0B842C9E32&qt=sharedby

I did so and the link to the file is https://onedrive.live.com/?id=root&cid=1602DF0B842C9E32 Hope you can help me anyway. Thank you very much, Horst For help with OneDrive see paragraph 9.3: http://www.gerryscomputertips.co.uk/MicrosoftCommunity1.htm
